Oct 28, 2011 - As a Fourth Degree Knight from NH, I am stunned to see that any intelligent person would deem this statue to be "illegal". As I understand, it was a memorial to WW II veterans, the majority of whom were of one Christian denomination or another. In no way does it teach any one specific religion, so therefore it establishes nothing at all. VIVAT JESUS, BROTHERS!

Oct 28, 2011 - The National Park Service meanwhile.. maintains the Arlington Cemetery crosses, The Washington Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, The Supreme Court Building and another dozen buildings in the Nation's capitol that have Christian symbolism. Oct 28, 2011 - If this was a devotional statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, I would say keep it up there. I have always admired the Virgin Mary's capacity to endure pain. She must have had a large birth canal in order to give birth to that big jerk-off, Jesus.

Oct 29, 2011 - I beg your pardon. This has not been up since World War ll. It was installed in 1953 because the KofC knew they could get away with it. And it is in no way, a war memorial. As stated on the KofC renewal permit, it is a devotional shrine. It has to come down and be put on church property so people can better have access to it. Peace and good will come your way.

Obviously everyone in that community wants it there, it is just the Forest service that wants it gone. This is not a shrine, it is a statue in the middle of a memorial! Christians do not use shrines. we dont worship statues. We dont bow before statues.
