Dec 11, 2011 - thinking of getting this, hows the weight?
Rasengan0819 Comenta:
Dec 11, 2011 - The weight is moderate. Not as heavy as a les paul style, but on the heavier side of strat syle guitars. It weighs about 7 lbs

Dec 11, 2011 - 7lbs, not bad have do play it that much? i'd like to get one but my experience with rondo( have made alot of sx and agile purchases but not douglas's) is that they release something new each couple of weeks. hope to see a another color scheme of this spad model.

Dec 17, 2011 - I have a Douglas Halo (explorer copy) it has a wide fat neck, tuners are ok,no sharp fret ends, playable out of the box with low action.Pick ups are ok for stock basswood body good guitar for 150.00 including shipping they changed the head stock on them now mine is like the Gibson one and metallic red. I recomend the Douglas I also have an SX strat 3/4 scale the SST 57 model also good.Agile are good too.

Dec 17, 2011 - Yes it was a long review but thanks as this is the only real review for the Douglas spad not the spad pro that I hear is great but is 225 i believe.I have a Douglas halo (explorer copy) good axe fat neck though and pickups are ok.The spad doesn't sound that bad with the stock pickups. If I were you I'd keep it stock till I got the cash to have it done by a shop so you don't fuck it up if you do you can get another one lol.

Dec 18, 2011 - i have a couple sx's and 1 agile intrepid 8 dual, i like the frets of the sx's there are big and doesnt need alot of work to make it play great. i'd like to try this spad model by douglas its 99$ . i wonder how big the body is
bryanarz Comenta:
Dec 18, 2011 - how big is the body compared to an ibanez rg?

Jan 7, 2012 - I don't know if you have tried to replace the pickups or not yet, but if you do I would replace all of the electronics in it. Buy new volume and tone pots which will only run you around 4 bucks a piece. A new jack will also be somewhat cheap and so will a selector switch. Not only will it make the soldering easier but it will also have a much better output. I hope I was able to help out :)

Feb 24, 2012 - at the end of the day, would you keep this guitar? with all the issues and mods, you might as well stick with your scheter and get rid of this one!

Mar 10, 2012 - I may get this. But I was already gonna switch the pickups with some Seymour Duncan SH-6s or some Rockfield SWCs. If I can find them. LOL. And I would also switch out the tuners with Grovers. I love Grovers. And I'd have to see how the bridge would work out for me. As for the nut I'd probably go for graphite or bone. Haha I'm not sure exactly. I'll just have to wait and see. X)

Apr 24, 2012 - if the strings are played below the bridge, does it make a sonic youth-esque sound?
