In this tutorial, I will teach you how to make an Origami Flapping Bird (really flaps!) using a regular sheet of printer paper. If you have any origami or square paper, that would be ideal to use. Making the Origami Flapping Bird is very similar to making the Origami Crane, yet with fewer folds. We must know how to make the Origami Bird Base, from which we can then make the flapping bird. I teach how to make the Bird Base step by step in this tutorial, but if you already know how to make it, you may fast forward to around 5:30. If you already know how to make the Bird Base, you may fast forward to around 5:30 to learn how to convert the bird base into a flapping bird. This is a quick introduction of my homemade Crow / Starling Blackbird Flapping Decoy which you can use for hunting crows or starling black birds. I constructed it from readily available materials. The flapping on the wings can be sped up by using more batteries. I used only one AA battery in this video. The flapping mechanics were constructed using chopsticks in a T pattern for the main frame with two sections of paper clips mounted on the T end for the pivot points, shish kabob skewers with paperclips shaped into long loops on the ends for the wing frames, and two short pieces of straw mounted perpendicular onto the skewers(the straws fit over the pivot points), an old t-shirt cutout for the wings, a small motor with sprocket mounted on it, I changed the paperclip section to a small straight nail mounted perpendicular on the sprocket (the loops of the wing frames fit over the small nail shaft on the sprocket). The bird body was made out of three pieces of cardboard cutout into a bird shape, and then stacked together for rigidity. Flat black spray paint was used to spray the wings and body. I shoved a small length of hanger wire into the cardboard of the body for the stake. Refer to the picture image of the simple ornithopter in the video for a better understanding of the flapping mechanics. I just swapped out the AA battery for a single D battery, and she flaps for over 6 hours now. For those who are wondering, the Flapping Duster is an item used in the Gallery of Time to access the back floors. It is not obtainable in the American version of the game through normal means. Getting the Flapping Duster requires the Glitchy Heaven's Cloud Sword and the Item Menu Deletion Trick.
